Visegrad Screenwriting Conference
5-6 December 2008, Budapest, Millenáris

The first Visegrad Screenwriting Conference takes place simultaneously with the Hungarian Screenplay Market, offering a multitude of professional events. During the conference our guests from the V4 countries (the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia) plus Austria discuss the future of screenwriting and the opportunities of scriptwriters as well as the situation of young filmmakers in the Central European region.
Promoting the unique and novel vision of young screenwriters in the Visegrad region in an international market, as well as deepening relationships between talent and film industry professionals through borders are key objectives of the initiative.
We firmly believe that there is a strong need for a forum of this kind, as there is a pool of serious creative talent left untapped in the region for lack of opportunities for entering the international market.
The aim is to offer an opportunity for professionals from the area to exchange their ideas, introduce their unique and fresh points of view and voices in an international environment and facilitate cooperation between the Visegrad countries.
We deem it important to create an opportunity for promising screenwriters to meet producers and colleagues from other countries with similar backgrounds to build a regional network of industry professionals.
